Environmental Effort

Promoting Rain Barrels for the
State of Delaware

Lewes in Bloom volunteers helped the State of Delaware Go Green! by saving money, resources and rain water. In 2009, we sold 100 Rain Barrels for the low, low price of $66.00, a green savings of 45% if purchased elsewhere! This was a community service project sponsored by DNREC and promoted by LIB volunteers. The terra cotta plastic rain barrels hold 60 gallons of non potable water and can be used for many years. Hopefully, this will be an annual event and will help spread the good news about LIB and how we promote the conservation of environmental resources.
